Yvette & Dee's Story

The Story of Yvette & Dee
Some stories are simply meant to be painted into existence—strokes of passion, resilience, and serendipity coming together to create something truly special. That’s the story of Yvette and Dee.
Their paths first crossed in 2018 through a mutual artist friend. Dee, an art gallery owner in Thunder Bay, Ontario, met Yvette, a Thunder Bay native and internationally recognized artist now based in Texas. Yvette had just launched an art book and reached out to Dee to carry it in her gallery. That moment of collaboration quietly laid the foundation for something far greater.
When the world shifted in 2020, so did Dee’s path. Pivoting her gallery into a product-based business, she began creating at-home paint kits to help people find joy during uncertain times. As her business blossomed, Dee reached out to Yvette—whom she admired for her deep knowledge of art licensing—for advice. What was meant to be a simple call turned into hours of heartfelt conversation, and from that day, a profound friendship was born.

Bonded by their passion for creativity and their desire to empower others, Dee and Yvette became one another’s confidantes—celebrating wins, navigating setbacks, and exchanging FaceTime calls filled with encouragement and artistic energy. As Dee began exploring the idea of developing a better paint solution—one that wouldn’t crack in Canadian winters or require frustrating multiple coats—Yvette shared a dream she had long held close: to create a paint line that would bring freedom and joy back to the creative process.
That dream became reality with the birth of YSA Paint under The Creative Company. Designed by artists for artists, YSA Paint was created to be versatile, vibrant, and frustration-free. Yvette’s own community of students were the first to experience its magic—and they instantly fell in love. These paints weren’t just tools; they were invitations back into creativity, sparking renewed joy and confidence with every brushstroke.
Together, Yvette and Dee are building more than a brand—they are nurturing a movement. Through YSA Paint, they have created a community where women, especially those rediscovering creativity later in life, feel seen, supported, and inspired. Their shared belief that color holds emotion and art holds healing has become the soul of everything they do.
From that first art book to a flourishing paint line, their journey is a celebration of friendship, artistry, and the incredible beauty that emerges when women empower each other to chase their dreams.
